Scott Staerker

Scott operates a niche practice serving predominantly pre-retirement to early retirement working professionals. Essentially, those individuals who have demonstrated the ability to maintain a responsible lifestyle within their means and are at a stage in life where simple structural changes to HOW they invest will secure and optimize the resources for the retirement they envision.

Experienced with the unique financial management of ex-pats and seasonal cross-border retirees. Has deep understanding of corporate plans and how best to integrate those benefits for tax efficient, cash flow in retirement and ultimate transfer of wealth to one’s children, estate, trust, or charity.

Core Investing Beliefs:

  • Add value by structuring portfolios for transparency and efficiency
  • There’s no “one size fits all” approach, so portfolios must be tailored to the goals and resources of each client
  • Secular Bear Markets can do significant damage and as such investors should employ strategies to weather major declines and adapt to changing market conditions

Prior to joining Saxon Financial Group, Scott worked as a Financial Advisor at a Raymond James Financial Services branch in Sugarland, Texas. Scott has degrees from The University of Texas at Austin and Florida State University. He successfully completed his FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 securities license in addition to Texas General Lines Insurance.

When not at work, Scott shows his passion for Texas Longhorn football as a traveling season ticket holder and founding President of the Katy Chapter of Texas Exes (Alumni Assoc. Univ. of Texas at Austin). Originally from Fort Myers, Florida, Scott now lives in Katy, Texas with Cathy Staerker. With two adult children away in graduate school, Scott and Cathy are recent empty nesters, who love hiking, traveling and taking daily walks along Buffalo Bayou with their dog Toby.
